How do I reset Studio to default values?
Studio stores many defaults in the Windows registry. This includes information like the following:
- The theme you selected
- The most recently used files
- The size and placement of the various Studio manager windows
- Whether Studio should load the last workspace you used
- The most recent entries for project, mode, status, and class
Under some rare conditions—for example, a manager always crashes when you attempt to open it, or you have resized a window or panel to be so small or so large that you can no longer activate it properly—it can be helpful to reset the Studio settings in the Windows registry.
To clear all of the Studio settings stored in the Windows registry, follow these steps:
- At a command prompt, navigate to the directory where the Studio executables are stored, typically c:fap\dll
- Enter the following command:
dmstudio /clear=all
- If the problem is not resolved, you will need to call Support.
- If the problem is resolved, you will probably want to set some of Studio’s parameters to preferred values. Click View, Options, Configuration Options to change the settings from their default values.
